MAIN IDEA

A Group of elite fantasy managers will each own a team named for their favorite MLB Franchise (if available no-duplicate team names). They will then draft rosters of their choosing from all MLB team rosters.

In the 2004 MLB Reality Keeper Baseball League we all compete for the ultimate prize in fantasy sports, The Reality Football Champion

Using our Tripod web site we have created a customized schedule and customized divisions, to create a more realistic effect unlike any other fantasy sports league

The scoring system will be head to head, with no maximum moves, no maximum trades, and no salary cap...We will conduct an online draft. the date will be set at a later date.

New MLB Policy

In the year 2004 we will begin a new style of baseball in MLB Reality. We will be using the Yahoo baseball league for lineup changes and scoring, but we won't really be using Yahoo. We will be using this website for everything in this league. We will post the Schedules and Standings here on this site. The league will consist of 16 teams, and 4 divisions in 2 conferences. We will use the scores at the end of the week to decide who wins...ex: If Reds beats Indians 9-2, Reds will be 1-0, and Indians 0-1. If a tie occurs, we will go by the 1)pitching staff with most wins, 2)Team with most total TB, 3) Highest team average, 4) Lowest team ERA.

1. Allow Commisioner to Edit Team

RULES for DESIGNATING KEEPERS

At the end of the season you will get a copy of your roster with your ranked by Yahoo. You will be responsible for selecting players to leave as FA's for the upcoming draft.. You may choose to re-sign your players. If you choose not to re-sign players the other owners will have a chance to draft them. The players you need to leave unprotected go as follows....

Every Team must leave one player from the following categories unprotected
Player cuts at the end of the season (1 Per Rank)

Top 3 Pitchers
Top 3 batters
then we rank by Yahoo Rank and cut as followed
7 to 11
12 to 15
16 to 20
21 to 25

if a prospect that reaches the limit, you have the option at the end of the year, if you want to keep him or drop him...You are not forced to keep him.
Once the season is over....before the prospects are brought up to the team...you must make your player cuts. Once you have made your cuts, the prospects will be added on to the team. After that, players that you have if you end up with more players then 25, you can then cut to keep the 25 guys you want. Once you reach 25 players on your roster you can then use any remaining draft picks for prospects as long as you do not end up with more than 5 prospects.

OFF-SEASON DRAFT RULES

  • 1 draft, 8 rounds. Lottery for 1st overall pick will be 5 bottom teams.
  • The draft order will go from bottom of the league to top. (From final standings after playoffs).
  • This will follow the regular Draft format with team ranked 16th picking 1st and the team ranked 1st picking last. The following rounds will continue with this draft format.
  • Trading of Draft picks is allowed.

  • In-Season Free Agents

  • After any FA pick up, you must have 25 players on your roster. no limit on pickups...there will be a 2 day waiver period on dropped players, with the last ranked team having first crack...the waiver order will be updated each Monday morning.

  • Trade Guidelines

  • All trades are subject to approval by the trades committee.
  • There will be no maximum number of trades.
  • Future draft picks may be traded.
  • ALL Trades must be posted on the Trade Board and agreed upon by BOTH teams and that post must be aproved by a Trade Committee before the actual trading of players on the Yahoo site. If said trades include draft picks those aspects of the trade must be posted also. This needs to be done so that we can keep up with the trading of future draft picks. if the trades are NOT done using this method, they will be null and void.
  • Trade deadline will be around week 17 or July 30th...depending on yahoo lets us set it up. It will be set before the season starts.
  • The FA pickups will be allowed until the playoffs. Once the playoffs start, all teams eliminated will be frozen, which means no FA pickups. For the playoff teams, a maximun of 5 moves will be allowed for injuries(so DL pickups are included).
  • Final Standings

    NOTES:

Here's an example of how the points system will work for the scores. It will not be by the Number you have at the end of your score, but the total that you will have against the team you are playing.

Here are 2 examples. On the Yahoo Schedule. The 49ers are playing the Jays, and the Expos are playing the Rams.

On our Schedule, the 49ers plays the Rams, and the Expos would play the Jays.

Here's how the scoring would work.

Team R HR RBI SB TB AVG OBP W L SV BB K ERA WHIP Score
    Cap-Pele 49ers 32 13 34 2 122 .318 .379 4 3 2 20 54 4.02 1.42 4
    Jays 44 13 36 5 128 .355 .458 3 6 5 16 49 4.45 1.24 9

Team R HR RBI SB TB AVG OBP W L SV BB K ERA WHIP Score
    expos 35 8 32 6 98 .274 .348 6 2 7 21 69 3.23 1.18 8
    Lac a Poucette Rams 43 17 47 4 135 .319 .408 1 7 5 23 53 6.63 1.65 6

    Here's an example:
Team R HR RBI SB TB AVG OBP W L SV BB K ERA WHIP Sco
    Cap-Pele 49ers 32 13 34 2 122 .318 .379 4 3 2 20 54 4.02 1.42 6
    Rams 43 17 47 4 135 .319 .408 1 7 5 23 53 6.63 1.65 8

Final Score would be Rams 8 49ers 6

Rams would receive 1 win, the 49ers would have 1 lost.

Team R HR RBI SB TB AVG OBP W L SV BB K ERA WHIP Sco
    Expos 35 8 32 6 98 .274 .348 6 2 7 21 69 3.23 1.18 7
    Jays 44 13 36 5 128 .355 .458 3 6 5 16 49 4.45 1.24 7

As you can see this game concludes in a 7-7 Tie. Therefor we go by Tie Breaker which is Pitching Staff with Most wins. Which is the Expos.

Therefor the final score would be Expos 8 and Jays 7 Expos win in Extra Innings, and gets a win, while the Jays get a lost in the Standings.

I will be updating all Scores each morning, and will be posting them on the Yahoo Board, also on our Message Board (Off the Website) Make sure, you check them each day, to see who's leading and winning in your game.)

Hope this explains how it's going to work for the point system and scores.

    END of SEASON

*There will be no FA pickups or posted trades during the off-season.
*Rosters will be locked after the season (Week 17) until next year after the draft is complete.
